Woman in her 90s left bruised after burglars broke into her house while she slept

manchestereveningnews.co.ukPolice are appealing for information after a woman in her 90s was burgled as she slept. The confrontational burglary took place at 2.25am on Wednesday March 4 in the Vauxhall area of Liverpool.
Unknown male offenders forced entry at the house in Herm Road with their faces covered. They then searched the property while the pensioner was asleep in bed.
One of the offenders put his hand over the victim's mouth to prevent her from speaking. She was later taken to hospital after suffering from shock and bruising to her face.
A quantity of cash was taken from the house before the offenders abandoned the property. An investigation is underway by Merseyside Police and house-to-house, forensic and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local
