Wendy Williams
Wendy Williams Hunter (born Wendy Joan Williams; July 18, 1964) is an American television host, businesswoman, media personality and author. Since 2008, she has hosted the nationally syndicated television talk show The Wendy Williams Show. Prior to television, Williams was a radio DJ and host and quickly became known in New York as a "shock jockette". She gained notoriety for her on-air spats with celebrities and was the subject of the 2006 VH1 reality TV series The Wendy Williams Experience which broadcast events surrounding her radio show. She was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009.

Wendy Williams remembered her later mother Shirley Williams on the December 7 episode of her morning talk show.

The daytime host, 56, started her “Hot Topics” segment by revealing that her mom died “many weeks ago.” Wendy, who vowed not to cry, held back tears to explain that Shirley “passed away beautiful and peacefully and surrounded by love.” The host did not disclose how her mother died, but added that she “didn’t suffer, not one bit.” Wendy went on to discuss her close relationship with Shirley, which she said became stronger in the 1980s, when she moved away to college at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. “My mom and I, our relationship became closer and closer when I went to college.
