Tom Cruise tried to cast new girlfriend as love interest 10 years ago

evoke.ieTom Cruise is happy in love with his new girlfriend Hayley Atwell but it turns out he tried to cast her as his love interest on a project some 10 years ago.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress auditioned for a role in Tom’s cinematic smash Jack Reacher back in 2011 but it wasn’t meant to be ultimately.
It’s understood Hayley made it down to the final three before the part was officially given to Rosamund Pike who played attorney Helen Rodin in the big screen adaptation of the Lee Child novel, One Shot.
Actress Alexa Davalos was also in the running to play Helen in the project. Insiders told The Sun how Tom and Hayley fell for one another while filming Mission: Impossible, the seventh film in the popular franchise.
