thesun.co.ukTOM Cruise wanted to cast secret girlfriend Hayley Atwell as his love interest ten years ago, it’s been revealed. Stunning Hayley, 38, auditioned for a role in the 2011 action flick Jack Reacher, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hayley was said to be in the running for the leading lady part, getting down to the final three before the role went to fellow British actor Rosamund Pike.
Rosamund played attorney Helen Rodin to Tom’s Jack Reacher in the big screen adaptation of Lee Child’s novel One Shot. Her character took on a difficult case of defending James Barr, a character accused of killing five people.
In real life, Pike was five months pregnant by the end of filming and went on to praise her co-star Tom as her "protector", according.
