Three men arrested after cyclist attacked with piece of wood and robbed as he lay on the ground

One of the men came armed with a piece of wood, say police, hitting the cyclist over the back of the head and causing him to fall from his bike.The man was attacked again as he lay on the ground.The attackers then stole their victim's bike, phone and wallet before fleeing the scene.The victim had to be rushed to hospital and treated for a head injury, but has since been released.Officers investigating the incident have now arrested three men, aged 18, 23 and 34, on suspicion of robbery.All three have been bailed pending further enquiries.
