Boris Johnson has promised not to place the country into full lockdown as he vowed to keep schools and businesses running.Addressing the House of Commons on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said in a statement that the country will not see a repeat of March's lockdown at this time.His speech came as the number of daily coronavirus cases continues to soar nationally, and the infection rate peaked above 1.Mr Boris Johnson said that whilst we may have driven the virus into retreat over the summer, the prospect of a second rave was 'real.'He told the Commons that the country has reached a 'perilous' turning point, and that we must act now to curb the rate of infection."So we are acting on the principle that a stitch in time saves lives," Mr Johnson.
