Set in a Manchester council house, it's difficult to believe the BBC's The Royle Family ran for just three seasons. The legendary sitcom left such a lasting impression, you'd be forgiven for thinking it had run for decades.
Written by, and starring, the late Caroline Aherne and co-star Craig Cash, it was on our screens from 1998 to 2000 - and centred around a working class Wythenshawe family doing little more than slobbing in front of the telly.
