Tonioli sadly made the choice to leave his role on the celebrity dance show after spending 18 years as a judge, placing the blame on challenges with travel and clashes with his role on Dancing with the Stars.

Reflecting on the decision, Tonioli has now shed more light on his reasons for leaving Strictly behind. "I always will miss it," he told MailOnline, describing the hit BBC One show as his "family". "At the moment, you know it's just as impossible, you know the situation is too complicated but they're all my brothers and sisters, we're all loving each other, you know, no hard feelings, they're great, they do a great job.
