'Selfish' walkers fined after getting lost on Scots mountain 60 miles from home

Three hillwalkers have been fined for breaking lockdown rules after having to be rescued on a Scots mountain- nearly 60 miles from their homes.

Mountain rescue teams and police were called to the aid of the three Motherwell walkers who became stranded in the mist on The Cobbler, Arrochar, Argyll.

The rescue has sparked fury among locals- with one describing it as 'jaw dropping stupidity'. Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team arrived at around 3.20pm yesterday on their first callout since lockdown
