Prestwick Town station shortly after 7pm on Saturday night.The Ayr Academy first year pupil suffered the serious head injury which saw him rushed to hospital.Transport cops are now probing the incident.He remains in a critical but stable condition.Officers are poring over CCTV of the scene to determine how the boy came into contact with the train.It’s understood he was struck by a Glasgow-bound ScotRail service as it pulled out of the station around 7.20pm.Sources stressed the boy was at no point on the tracks.The incident is being treated as a horrifying accident.Trains continued to run through Prestwick on Saturday night without stopping.Normal service was resumed around two hours after the incident.Prestwick councillor, Hugh Hunter,.
