A large-scale rescue operation was launched with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service search boats drafted in after a person was seen in difficulty in the water.
Despite extensive efforts, no trace of the man has yet been found while his worried family wait for an update.The missing person, who is understood to live in the Edinburgh area, was said to have been enjoying a day out with friends when they disappeared.Police remain at the scene and have closed off the footpath and car park to allow for the rescue operation to.
