Scots headteacher pays special tribute to 'bright and caring' teenager hit by car on Glasgow road

Glasgow road has been hailed as 'bright, caring, loving' in a moving tribute by her heartbroken head teacher. Notre Dame High School pupil Sophie Geddesdied after being hit by a car on the city's Great Western Road at around 7.45pm on Saturday night.

Emergency services raced to the scene and she was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance where she sadly passed away.

Head teacher of Notre Dame High School, Rosemary Martin, said the school community had been left 'devastated' by Sophie's sudden death and that the popular student would always have 'a special place in our hearts'.She said: “We are absolutely devastated by this tragic news.
