Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he is intrigued to see how Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola embeds Erling Haaland within his style of play next season.

City, who scooped their second successive Premier League title on Sunday, coming from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium, reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund earlier this month to sign the Norwegian international, subject to personal terms being agreed.

City are understood to be signing him for £51million. Haaland, since joining Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, has gone from strength-to-strength, netting 86 goals in 89 appearances in all competitions, making him one of the most highly-rated players in the world.

His ceiling is unthinkable and he is a signing that ought to only strengthen City's hopes of maintaining their recent domination of the Premier League.
