PIERS Morgan has been hit with nearly 2,000 Ofcom complaints over an explosive interview with care minister Helen Whately on Good Morning Britain.
The 55-year-old host ripped into the Conservative MP on Wednesday last week as she tried to defend why so few people in care homes have been tested so far - amid reports thousands of patients have already died.
TV watchdog Ofcom confirmed to The Sun Online today that 1,910 complaints have now been lodged over the interview. It saw Piers accuse the minister of "utter nonsense" over her claims that 19 NHS workers had died on the frontlines, saying that the figure reported in the press is much higher - as official figures have a ten-day lag.
