Kate Bush has officially broken three Guinness World Records following the recent resurgence of ‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)’.The track – which appears on Bush’s 1985 fifth studio album, ‘Hounds Of Love’ – reached Number One on the UK singles chart earlier this month (June 17) after featuring prominently in the fourth season of Stranger Things.Upon its initial release 37 years ago, ‘Running Up That Hill…’ landed at Number Three in the UK, and later charted in 2012 when a revamped version of the song was used in the London Olympics closing ceremony.Now, the Guinness World Records has confirmed that Bush has taken the following titles in the UK: Oldest female artist to reach Number One, Longest time for a track to reach Number One on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, and Longest gap between Number Ones.Cher was formerly the oldest solo female chart-topper on the UK’s singles chart with ‘Believe’ back in 1998, when she was 52 years old. “Bravo Kate,” wrote Cher on Twitter in response to Bush, 63, taking her crown.“Records are meant 2 be broken‼️” she continued “Remember back in the day, when women had short sell by dates⁉️ We had 2 fight our way through the testosterone curtain, & we did it so the girls who came after us could sing as long as they want to.

Kate Bush looks set to achieve another week at number one with ‘Running Up That Hill’ following its recent inclusion in Stranger Things.According to The Official Charts Company, Bush is on track for a second week at number one, followed by Harry Styles’ at number two with ‘As It Was’ and LF System’s ‘Afraid To Feel’ at number three.Elsewhere in the singles charts as it stands is Drake with three potential new entries following the release of his surprise album, ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ last week. Last week, ‘Running Up That Hill’ was the most streamed track on the planet and reached Number One on both the Spotify charts in the UK and the US after earning 57million streams in just one week.As well as being Number One now in the UK, it’s also Number One in Australia, New Zealand and Switzerland. Kate Bush has scored her first Number One on a Billboard albums chart with ‘Hounds Of Love’, which leads the Top Alternative Albums on June 11.The news follows ‘Running Up That Hill’ landing at Number Eight on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart earlier this week, which marks the first time one of Bush’s singles has landed in the US Top 10 chart.‘Running Up That Hill’ features in the first episode of volume one of Stranger Things 4, which premiered on May 27, and subsequently in episodes involving pivotal moments with the character Max (Sadie Sink).As reported by Billboard, in the May 27-June 2 tracking week ‘Hounds Of Love’ earned 17,000 equivalent album units, surging by 2,086 per cent.Bush’s ’50 Words for Snow’ reached Number Nine on Top Alternative Albums in 2011, with ‘The K Fellowship Presents: Before the Dawn’ hitting Number Five in 2016.‘Hounds Of Love’ is also Number Four on Top Rock Albums and Number 28 on the all-genre Billboard 200.Since Stranger Things 4 first aired last month, Spotify streams of ‘Running Up That Hill’ have increased by at least 153 per cent, with the track also re-entering the Top 10 on the Official UK Singles Chart.In response to the track being used in the show, Bush said: “When the first series came out, friends kept asking us if we’d seen Stranger Things, so we checked it out and really loved it.
