Officials update travel advice for Scots holidaymakers amid Greek island lockdown

Greece amid a spike in coronavirus cases on one of the country’s islands. Around 30 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported on the island of Poros in recent days.

The Greek government has been forced to impose a local lockdown on the island as a result of this, reports the Mirror. Scots heading to the island will now have to wear face coverings both indoors and outdoors - except in private spaces such as hotel rooms.

All food shops, services and facilities must close between the hours of 11pm to 7am the following day. Live events, parties and religious ceremonies have been banned inside the country and no more than nine people can gather in public or private spaces.
