I grew up in a very white village and we were the only Asian family in the whole town. I think there was a corner shop and us.

We were instantly treated very differently, we endured a lot of racism as a family. I've got two older brothers and a sister and we'd all go to school – I was only a little girl at this point so I only remember bits of it – but my brothers would get spit on and be called a P**i.They'd come home crying.

I mentioned before that I was called horrible names, but so was my sister. She got called Hitler all the time, because she had a lot more facial hair than me.
