Harry was educated at Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and Eton College. He spent parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho. He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Kate Middleton has announced she's taken over Prince Harry's role as Patron of the Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union.The news was confirmed on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official Instagram account as they posted a clip of Kate, 40, with a ball in her hand as it's passed from player to player.

In the caption, they shared: "I am so thrilled to become Patron of the Rugby Football League and Rugby Football Union – two fantastic organisations who are committed to harnessing the power that sport can have in bringing communities together and helping individuals flourish. "I look forward to working with them across all levels of the games, and to cheering England on in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports!
