Giovanni Pernice thinks he knows the real reason he and Rose Ayling-Ellis won Strictly Come Dancing. The professional dancer and EastEnders actress lifted the Glitterball Trophy after 13 weeks of wowing viewers in the BBC One dance contest.

Giovanni and Rose went head-to-head with John Whaite and Johannes Radebe in December's two-couple final. Both couples finished level on the leaderboard with identical judges scores leaving the decision firmly in the hands of the public. He told The Sun: "It's more about the connection. It's been good from day one. "We understood each other. We didn't have much pressure about winning the show. "And I was more relaxed into the teaching this year. "We really work well together, we have a fantastic connection.
