Donny van de Beek needed to leave Manchester United in January but going to Everton may have been the wrong decision. That's according to former United man Paul Parker, who believes it could be hard for the playmaker to flourish at the struggling Toffees.
Van de Beek finally got his wish of a January loan exit granted on transfer deadline day as he moved to Goodison Park for the remainder of the season.
The Dutchman has found opportunities difficult to come by since signing for United from Ajax and 18 months ago and didn't start a single match in the Premier League for the club in the current campaign.
Van de Beek has shown the quality he possesses before, however, especially in the Amsterdamers' run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, and Parker thinks he had to get away from Manchester in order to prove himself once again.
