direct to your inboxA council-run care home has been placed into special measures after one resident was found with an ‘unexplained injury’ and staff weren’t wearing face masks ‘for several months’.Representatives of the social care watchdog the Care Quality Commission delivered a scathing report of Waterside House independent living facility in Sale, managed by Trafford council, finding it ‘inadequate’ on safety and leadership grounds.Citing a ‘negative culture’ in some parts of the home, inspectors said staff ‘were not always treating people with respect’ on site and safeguarding issues were also a concern.During their inspection, CQC found one resident with an ‘unexplained injury’, which they said showed a prompt safeguarding referral.
