Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Steven Gerrard is doing "very well" but couldn't resist a dig over the Rangers' manager's failure to deliver a trophy so far.
The Ibrox club hold an 11 point lead over Celtic at the top of the Premiership, albeit having played two games more, and have started the season unbeaten.
That's given Rangers fans hope of a first league title since 2011 - and achieving it would surely prick up ears south of the border.
Ever since moving into management Gerrard has been linked with a future job with his beloved Liverpool. And speaking on BBC Radio Five Live's 606 it was put to Sutton that Gerrard doing "unbelievably well" this term will have Anfield eyes on him.
