Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.

He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

Camilla pays tribute to domestic abuse victims with powerful ribbon scene on EastEnders

Prince Charles and Camilla made their debut on hit BBC One soap EastEnders on Thursday 2 June. The Prince of Wales, 73, and Duchess of Cornwall, 74, starred as themselves and joined Albert Square's residents with a street party to celebrate the Queen 's Platinum Jubilee.

In one powerful moment, Camilla tied a ribbon for "all the victims of domestic abuse" after meeting Karen Taylor, played by Lorraine Stanley, whose on-screen daughter Chantelle Atkins, played by Jessica Plummer, was murdered in a domestic abuse storyline.The Duchess of Cornwall took a purple ribbon and tied it around a tree in memory of Chantelle, who suffered months of abuse from on-screen husband Gray Atkins, played by Toby-Alexander Smith.

It’s very important that she is remembered. My heart goes out to you, I know a lot of people who have lost children." Viewers were quick to take to Twitter over the powerful moment with one person tweeting: "My favourite part of that episode was the tree to remember Chantelle and other domestic abuse victims, it was such a lovely thing to do #eastenders." A different account put: "Excellent bit with the Duchess and the ribbon to highlight the cause #DomesticAbuse #EastEnders." While another soap watcher added: "Oh im so emotional about Camilla placing a ribbon for domestic abuse.
