Britney Spears's father has allegedly agreed to step down as her conservator as she fights to end to her 13-year conservatorship.

Jamie Spears, 69, who has controlled the personal affairs and finances of his 39 year old pop star daughter for over a decade, reportedly announced on Thursday 12 August that he is stepping down as conservator amid her battle for freedom, court documents, said to be obtained by TMZ, stated. "There are, in fact, no actual grounds for suspending or removing Mr Spears as the Conservator of the Estate ...

and it is highly debatable whether a change in conservator at this time would be in Ms Spears' best interests," the court documents stated.
