A woman trapped in a bedroom after a a blaze broke out at a house in Radcliffe has been rescued by firefighters

A 60-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital following a serious fire at a home in Radcliffe. The blaze broke out at a property in Coleridge Avenue at around 9.45pm last night (Wednesday) and three fire engines were sent to the scene.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to enter the burning house and rescue the woman who was trapped in a upstairs bedroom. The crews, from Whitefield and Farnworth station, spent some time at the home and managed to put the flames out.

The extent of the woman's injuries is currently unknown but she is being treated at Fairfield Hospital. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue said: "On arrival at the scene, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and rescued a woman from
