His devastated family say his death has come as a “total shock” and described his actions as “totally out of character”. An inquest was opened at Bolton Coroner’s Court by area coroner Alan Walsh on Wednesday (December 2).
It heard how Christopher, of Afflek Avenue, Radcliffe, had moved into the Market Street pub owned by his brother having experienced problems with his girlfriend.
The pair had been fighting and his brother, landlord William Pilkington, allowed him to stay in the weeks leading up to his death.
