Charles Ingram
Charles William Ingram (born 6 August 1963) is an English novelist, computer repairman, and former British Army major who became known for being accused and convicted of cheating on the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001, after winning the maximum prize of one million pounds. Following a lengthy trial at Southwark Crown Court, he was convicted on a single count of procuring the execution of a valuable security by deception. He was convicted of an unrelated insurance fraud in 2003, and ordered to resign his commission as a major by the Army Board.

Named ‘Quiz,’ the series follows the life of Charles Ingram and his wife during the infamous £1 million win on ITV quiz show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.The Ingram’s participation in the huge UK game show in 2001 saw the country rocked by scandal as they were accused of cheating their way to the money after it was revealed that Major Ingram, his wife Diana and accomplice, Tecwen Whittock, clubbed together and used coughing to signify correct answers.
