Queen vows to 'always be devoted in service' as she misses Commonwealth Service
The Queen promised to “always be devoted in service” to the Commonwealth in a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Monday 14 March, 75 years after she first made the vow. Her Majesty’s declaration was published ahead of Monday’s Commonwealth Service, held at London's Westminster Abbey, after it was confirmed that the 95 year old would not be attending the event for the first time in nearly a decade. This was the first in-person Commonwealth service held since the pandemic and saw Prince Charles arrive to represent the Queen along with Camilla, Prince William, and guests including former archbishop Lord Sentamu and Tongan leader Elizabeth Kite.
