Investigation underway after deliberate bin fire causes gas explosion
Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Detectives have launched an investigation into a gas explosion in a Renfrewshire street.Emergency crews raced to Maxwell Drive in Erskine around 4am this morning after firebugs torched bins close to a pipline.The road was sealed off as fire crews and engineers made the area safe.And now a probe is underway in a bid to catch the mindless yobs who started the fire.A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We are investigating a wilful fire raising incident which happened around 4am in Maxwell Drive, Erskine."If you have any information or witnessed what happened, please come forward to police."It is understood there were no injuries reported.Councillor Michelle
