Alec Baldwin has filed a cross-complaint in regard to the on-set shooting death of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, alleging in a lawsuit filed Friday that the blame lies with three of the film’s crew members, as well as the man who supplied ammunition to the set.  Baldwin named Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, David Halls, Seth Kenney, PDQ Arm and Prop, LLC (“PDQ”) and Sarah Zachry collectively as “cross-defendants” in a suit originally filed against him last year by Mamie Mitchell, the film’s script supervisor.

Just days before the Santa Fe District Attorney is expected to announced her intentions in the fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins by Alec Baldwin last year, the actor today has slammed crew members of the indie Western with a negligence lawsuit.

This is the third time the New Mexico authorities have found that Alec Baldwin had no authority or knowledge of the allegedly unsafe conditions on the set, that he was told by the person in charge of safety on the set that the gun was 'cold,' and believed the gun was safe,» Nikas said.

A major update in the Rust shooting case has been made, and it seems to be a huge victory for Alec Baldwin. That’s certainly how he’s treating it anyway.

The report cites “serious management failures” by the Rust production company in its investigation of the on-set shooting that killed DP Halyna Hutchins and badly injured director Joel Souza last year.
