Vasilis Barkas puts Celtic struggles to one side as he nearly scoops coveted Greek goalkeeping award
Vasilis Barkas has been named the second best goalkeeper of the year in a poll in his native Greece.The shot-stopper joined the Premiership champions from AEK Athens in the summer but has struggled in Scotland.With one of the lowest save percentages in the division and a number of high-profile errors, manager Neil Lennon has turned to Scott Bain in recent weeks.But it seems Barkas remains highly rated in his homeland as he came second in a prestigious Player of the Year vote.Barkas finished runners-up in the Best Goalkeeper category to Portuguese international keeper Jose Sa, who plays for Greek champions Olympiacos.Sa said: "This is a magnificent honour for me especially since I won it ahead of some great goalkeepers too."It's the result
