Bury restaurant closes for two weeks after two positive Covid-19 tests
A Whitefield restaurant has been forced to shut after a customer and member of staff tested positive for coronavirus. All staff at Mezzaluna on Bury New Road are now self-isolating and the restaurant will remain closed for 14 days, owner Francesco Stefanuto confirmed.It comes after a customer informed the Italian restaurant they had tested positive for Covid-19 at the beginning of last week.A member of staff then started showing symptoms a few days later and also tested positive for the virus on Friday morning (August 28).The restaurant closed immediately and is not expected to reopen until September 11.Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, owner Francesco Stefanuto said: “We are all in self-isolation at the moment.
