Two park rangers stayed with a seriously injured young woman for two hours waiting for paramedics after she was thrown from a horse in Rochdale.Ashleigh Merrill, 24, suffered a serious back injury after taking a tumble when her horse dropped his head while cantering in a field in Heywood.Park rangers Mike Cummings and Tommy Downes were busy chopping a fallen tree near to Queen’s Park when they witnessed the fall.They were first on the scene and quickly jumped into action to help Ashleigh remain still during the incident on July 23.They offered words of comfort to make sure she avoided any further injuries or distress.The rangers - who always carry a first aid kit - immediately phoned for an ambulance.But given the location where she came.
