The Greenock -born actor came up with a couple of clangers in Sunday night’s record-long interrogation of Acting Detective Superintendent Jo Davidson in the hit BBC show.
And Twitter followers delighted in telling him all about it. Playing Detective Inspector Steve Arnott, Compston said a death certificate for Jo’s mum, Samantha Davidson, had been completed by ‘The Glasgow City Coroner’.
The post does not exist. He followed that up, saying a subsequent ‘Inquest’ had recorded a finding of suicide. No inquests are held in Scotland.
