ITV has issued a statement after Love Island's Aftersun show was hit by hundreds of complaints. More than 400 complaints had been submitted to TV watchdog Ofcom following the spin-off show on Sunday.
They mostly related to comments made about Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, as well as an interview with professional rugby player Jacques O'Neill, who quit the show after saying he was "broken".
Host Laura Whitmore had said: "Once again Ekin-Su swore that nothing happened with George and it seems Davide doesn’t believe her. "The host laughed, leading panellist, singer Tom Grennan, to weigh in: "It deffo happened though, didn’t it. " Comedian Darren Harriott continued: "She said her head never turned but I think her hand might have turned, and possibly wrist. " Read more Love Island star Tasha's dad has urgent message over trolling of Luca Bish The comments left her family and friends feeling very uncomfortable and the person looking after her account last night tweeted: “The fact that the s*** shaming is being passed off as banter and good television is very concerning at this rate. ” In a statement, ITV told Metro : "Laura is the presenter of the show, and part of that role is to pose questions to the panel and discuss events in the Villa.
