Viewers have known that Summer Spellman, played by Harriet, has been struggling with her diabetes diagnosis and issues around her body image.
In scenes aired last week, Amy Barlow reappeared at the flat Summer shares with her guardian Billy Mayhew, played by Dan, to find her making herself sick after the pair ate cake and bacon rolls.
Summer begged Amy not to tell Billy and not wanting to betray her friend's trust, she didn't say a word until scenes aired at the start of the week when Summer ended up in hospital.
