At home, Hugh lives a happy life with his partner of the last 34 years Martin something that would have been unfathomable when he was in his twenties and engaged to a ‘wonderful’ woman but essentially living a double life as a closeted gay man.
Hugh, now 64, has never been shy about speaking out about his struggles with alcohol addiction, and how he recently relapsed during lockdown.
But it is Martin, says Hugh, who is the backbone of his happiness and sobriety, and he shared what has helped them last so long together.
