GOOD Morning Britain was sent into a tailspin today after a guest's cat gatecrashed a live interview. Polly Mackenzie, former advisor to deputy PM Nick Clegg, was appearing on the show via video chat to discuss the proposed changes to self-isolation rules amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Appearing from her home in South East London, Polly passionately told GMB hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins that advice needs to be a "huge communication effort".

Adil then asked: "Do you think there is an issue with the style of government for Western countries? Polly began: "We are seeing a real challenge for liberal democracies…" only for her face to become obscured by her pet cat's tail.
