Fish of the Week: Seize the gray

I’ve got my permit sorted to fish the river through the winter and hopefully the water levels will get down to less of a deluge as the temperatures drop and we get perfect conditions for grayling fishing.We’re pretty far from those cold, crisp mornings that have you crunching along the frozen riverbank in January and it could certainly do with a big storm to get the last of the leaves off the trees and washed through the river.It might not be ideal but the trout season is well and truly gone, the delicate dries have been mothballed and out come the heavy beaded nymphs for a shot at the lady of the stream.I have been a trout angler pretty much all of my life.The first fish I caught was.
