Amanda Abbington has wiped her social media presence clean as Giovanni Pernice has been brutally cut from Strictly Come Dancing. The Sherlock star seems to have vanished from several online platforms, including Instagram and X, coinciding with the day it was confirmed that Giovanni won't be returning for the 2024 series of the dance show. The 33-year-old dancer is currently under BBC investigation after receiving complaints from at least three celebrity partners from previous seasons, the Mirror reports.Giovanni, who joined the Strictly family in 2015 and won the show with Rose Ayling-Ellis on the 19th series, was noticeably absent from the BBC's recent reveal of the professional lineup for next year.

This follows speculation about his future on the show.Giovanni was last seen partnering with Amanda, who bowed out of the 2023 contest for "personal reasons".

He has firmly denied any accusations of "abusive or threatening behaviour" and expressed his eagerness to clear his name. Reports also surfaced that Amanda had requested to review footage from their training sessions.

An ongoing BBC probe into Giovanni's conduct was initiated after claims emerged that three of his past dance partners had sought legal advice. The broadcaster is reportedly in the process of "evidence gathering", amid suggestions that more celebrities might have approached lawyers regarding the matter.Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community'
