Hello Games has revealed the Interceptor update for its open-world sci-fi title No Man’s Sky, which has added new enemies, planets and ships for players to tackle.Update 4.2 for No Man’s Sky, titled Interceptor, was revealed today (April 5) and pits players against corrupted planets that have spread throughout the galaxy.These corrupted planets offer new buildings, resources and equipment for adventurous players to discover, including a unique jetpack. Activision Blizzard has detailed recent changes to its Ricochet anti-cheat system, including developer-side match replays and a number of creative ways to frustrate Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 cheaters.In a blog, posted yesterday (March 5), Activision Blizzard confirmed that its kernel-level anti-cheat software Ricochet had been updated with “several new layers of security and detections” to battle cheaters.One such feature is a new replay investigation tool, which will allow teams at Activision Blizzard to watch any completed match to review its footage for signs of cheating.At the “highest tiers” of ranked in Modern Warfare 2, Activision has shared that matches will be automatically recorded in case they need to be investigated for cheating.“Though it’s a new tool for Team Ricochet, Replay has already helped with investigations into suspicious accounts resulting in permanent bans,” shared the company.Additionally, Ricochet has been updated with new software to detect third-party hardware, which can be used to minimise recoil for users. Anyone caught using this sort of hardware will first receive a warning about their device, but continued use can lead to suspensions or even bans.Elsewhere, a number of creative in-game solutions from Call Of Duty: Vanguard have been implemented in an attempt to frustrate cheaters during matches.

Mojang and Wizards Of The Coast have announced the launch of Dungeons & Dragons downloadable content (DLC) for Minecraft, which will introduce a “story-driven” campaign and five classes to choose from.The Dungeons & Dragons DLC is set to launch on the Minecraft Marketplace in spring 2023, and will include a number of enemies, locations and features from Wizards Of The Coast’s 1974 game.In the DLC, players will choose from five Dungeons & Dragons classes – including Barbarian and Wizard – and explore five Forgotten Realms from the D&D universe.

Diablo franchise at Blizzard, has shared that not all classes in Diablo 4 should feel equally balanced at all points.Diablo 4 kicked off its first beta on Friday (March 17), giving players an opportunity to play three of the game’s classes before the game’s next open beta on March 24.While two classes – Necromancer and Druid – are yet to be unlocked for players, those who took part in the early beta got to try out the Sorcerer, Rogue and Barbarian classes.However, a number of social media posts and threads on the game’s subreddit have claimed that Diablo 4‘s Barbarian class feels much weaker than its counterparts.Speaking to NME‘s Jake Tucker, Fergusson acknowledged that balancing would play a larger part in Diablo 4 since the game will place more emphasis on player versus player (PvP) interactions.However, Fergusson shared that although classes should feel balanced to play against each other, not every class should feel as powerful at the same time as others.“There is a lot of balance there, but the trick around balance is that it’s a balance over time — not a balance of the moment,” shared Fergusson. “Not all classes at level five should have the same power.”“Due to the enchantment specialisation, Sorcerers will have the most skills of any class because [with] Barbarians having four weapons, they will have the most legendary slots of any class.

Paradox Interactive has revealed The Lamplighters League, a turn-based adventure game that it will be publishing for developer Harebrained Schemes.Due to launch for Xbox and PC platforms in 2023, The Lamplighters League is set in an alternate version of the 1930s and tasks players with putting a stop to the Banished Court, a cult that’s spent a millennia trying to take over the world.Announced during the Paradox Announcement Show, The Lamplighters League will task players with controlling a band of “misfit” characters.Each has unique abilities, leaving players to deploy them in turn-based missions that begin with real-time infiltration segments. Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has revealed that he’s been looking at Escape From Tarkov for inspiration.Elden Ring currently has a variety of multiplayer game modes but in a new interview with IGN, Miyazaki has said he’s keeping an eye on titles like Escape From Tarkov.Responding to a question about what new technologies, trends, or ideas in gaming he finds inspiring or exciting right now, Miyazaki said: “I’m not really sure whether this is the latest trend, but the multiplayer elements that in terms of both technology and the game designs, we keep updating [them].”“So I’m really interested in that as one of the fans and one of the creators. Hogwarts Legacy has confirmed there are “no current plans” for future expansions.Released earlier this month for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world, action role-playing game set in the 1800s. The RPG is due for release at some point in 2023 and fans are already making comparisons to FromSoftware’s Elden Ring.“There is some pressure, as you can imagine,” Hexworks creative director Cezar Virtosu said in an interview with Edge Magazine [via GamesRadar].

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC will be able to preload the game’s campaign mode ahead of this week’s early access phase.Preloading for the campaign begins for PC on October 19 at 6PM BST / 7PM CEST / 10AM PT, meaning players can jump straight into the single-player mode when early access begins.Anyone who has pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 on PC will be able to pre-load the campaign through Battle.net or Steam, depending on where their copy was purchased for.The campaign’s early access kicks off from October 20 at 6PM BST, meaning players get just over a week to complete the shooter’s single-player story before Modern Warfare 2 launches fully on October 28.Pre-loading for the full game, which will include Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer and special ops modes, will begin on October 26 – again at 6PM BST.With just over a week left until the game launches, Infinity Ward has also shared Modern Warfare 2‘s minimum and recommended PC system requirements.
