Police hand out dozens of fines after 100 'astoundingly irresponsible' people were caught at illegal Formby beach rave
Liverpool Echo reports.More than 60 people were given fixed penalty notices for breaching Covid regulations but police estimated around 100 people were present after they were called to the scene at around 12.50am.As well as the 64 people fined, two were also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs.The site is now being cleaned up by the local authority.Deputy Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said that they were not only breaking the law but putting 'anyone that they come into contact with over the next few days, including their friends, family and colleagues, at risk of catching and spreading coronavirus'.She added: "Those who attended the event in Formby last night were astoundingly irresponsible."They were not only
