Victoria Pendleton talks severe depression recovery: 'I started doing things that make me happy'
Victoria Pendleton is one of this country’s most successful female Olympians. After she was spotted by Marshall Thomas – the former national track coach for velodrome cycling – at just 16, she quickly rose to prominence in the cycling world, going on to win nine world titles and representing Great Britain in the 2005 and 2012 Olympics. But it’s been far from plain sailing for Victoria, who’s been open about suffering from lows along the way.The star – who was diagnosed with severe depression in 2018 – showed bravery by admitting she was in a “dark place” with her illness.
