Killer Mike not facing criminal charges for Grammys arrest
Killer Mike will not be facing criminal charges following his arrest after an incident with a security guard at the Grammy Awards in February.TMZ shared yesterday (June 26) that prosecutors in the Los Angeles city attorney’s office won’t be filing charges against the Run the Jewels rapper, real name Michael Render, and was told that he’d successfully completed his city attorney hearing and agreed to undertake community service with a non-profit organisation of his choice.However, the office could reopen the case if Render gets into further trouble over the next year, the outlet reported.After winning three Grammys, for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Album, Render was taken away in handcuffs following the ceremony on February 4.The L.A. police department said that he’d been taken into custody in relation to a physical event inside the Crypto.com Arena, and he was booked for misdemeanour battery as a result of the incident with the security guard.After his arrest, Render told Pitchfork in a statement: “I do want to note that last night, my team and I fielded a number of calls from concerned fans and colleagues wanting to know if I was OK.
