Nurse rapped after drug mix ups at Scots hospital and giving patient extra 30 minutes on dialysis
hospital. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) this week probed the actions of Michael McCabe while working at Dundee's Ninewells hospital.McCabe has admitted to a string of failings including not giving injections to patients, not checking prescriptions when giving drugs and giving one patient an extra 30 minutes on a dialysis machine.Tinzaparin, used for deep vein thrombosis, was given by McCabe to a patient when it had already been administered.A report was prepared by the NMC after the whistle was blown on McCabe by the lead nurse in December, 2018.It says that McCabe had been given a final warning before going onto make other errors.A hearing took place and McCabe was sacked from the health board without notice in November,
