Dry Cleaning have shared new single ‘Gary Ashby’ and announced details of a world tour in support of forthcoming album ‘Stumpwork’ ahead of its arrival next month.In an accompanying statement, the band said the new song is “a lament about a pet tortoise, escaped as a result of family chaos”. Dry Cleaning have announced a new EP called ‘Swampy’, out March 1 – pre order/save here.The new project will comprise two previously unreleased tracks, remixes and demos, serving as the follow-up to the band’s 2022 LP ‘Stumpwork’.Alongside the announcement, the London quartet have released new tracks, ‘Swampy’ and ‘Sombre Two’, which you can listen to below.“These two songs were recorded in the Stumpwork sessions and they feel like good companions to us,” the band said in a statement. “They share a dusty, desolate and spacey atmosphere.

Dry Cleaning have shared a new single titled ‘No Decent Shoes For Rain’, the fourth to be lifted from their forthcoming album ‘Stumpwork’ ahead of its arrival later this month.“‘No Decent Shoes For Rain’ is inspired by grief,” frontwoman Florence Shaw says of the song; a comparatively moody slow-burner following last month’s ‘Gary Ashby’. “Grief over past relationships, grief for loved ones who have died, and all the things that come with that; loneliness, numbness, yearning, ruminating about the past.”The new song arrives alongside a video which compiles footage of the band in the studio and on tour.
