Love Island are said to be looking into starting a series specifically for singletons over the age of 40.The hit ITV2 dating show, which started in 2015, has seen a string of good looking young people throughout its eight series, with many noting the lack of body diversity on the programme.

People have also complained that some people are too young to go on the show – with viewers using 19 year old Gemma Owen as an example.

Now, in a bid to answer ITV viewers’ prayers, reportedly the broadcaster is looking into a version of Love Island just for middle aged people with “normal bodies”, with it airing as soon as next year.

A source revealed to The Sun: “Times change and the current generation in their 40s and 50s still care about how they look, are fit and healthy, into fashion and are ready to let their hair down. “This show will give those who settled down young a second chance at love while they still feel in their prime. “And, let’s face it, they know their minds, will be capable of intelligent conversation and are likely to be much more adventurous — all ingredients regular Love Island sometimes lacks.” OK!
