The smoking area used to be one of the main social spots in the earlier seasons of Love Island, but now producers no longer show the Islanders having a puff.
In the 2022 instalment of the ITV2 dating show, there was only one cigarette smoker and they actually had to leave the villa before lighting up.
Casa Amor bombshells Josh Le Gove and Coco Lodge spilled the beans on the secret cigarette smoker, saying that it was Davide Sanclimenti, who went on to win the ITV2 series, writes the Mirror. The 27-year-old Italian had to leave the villa before he was allowed to get his nicotine fix, to ensure he was out of the cameras.
Speaking to Closer magazine, contestant Josh said: "It was just outside the front."Coco added: "It was only Davide that smoked, so he was probably out there having a great time by himself." She added: "Adam [Collard] vaped, but he came in later."It used to be that Islanders on the ITV2 dating show openly smoked on screen but since the 2019 series, this was stopped and those who wanted a cigarette had to use a designated smoking area.Smoking in groups is discouraged by producers and Islanders can vape away from the camera.
