United played their first friendly of pre-season on Sunday and ran out 2-1 winners over Wayne Rooney's Derby County in a promising display, with Tahith Chong and Facundo Pellistri grabbing the goals.
Lingard came on at the break for his first United appearance since returning from his successful loan spell at West Ham United last season, in which he scored nine goals in 16 appearances.
The forward looked impressive in his run-out, showing good energy on a blisteringly hot afternoon and hitting the woodwork with a great shot from distance.
