Jennifer Holliday totally stole the show at the 2020 Tony Awards! The legendary entertainer returned to the Broadway show for a Dreamgirls performance on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. Jennifer originated the role of Effie White in the Broadway musical Dreamgirls back in 1981 and she won Best Lead Actress in a Musical at the 1982 Tony Awards.

During the awards ceremony, which was streamed on Paramount+, Jennifer performed her signature song “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going.” The crowd was on their feet throughout the performance and the winners who accepted awards after the performance all thanked her for gifting them with that moment!
